Evolution of Africa Business Bureau
Incorporated as a limited liability company in 2018, Africa Business Bureau (ABB) commenced business operations in 2019 as a human capacity development institution focused on the training of entrepreneurs and career-oriented individuals with key skills needed to run a business and develop one’s career respectively.
Between 2019 and 2020, ABB trained over 400 individuals with entrepreneurial mindset in six municipalities in the Greater Accra Region under the Government of Ghana-NEIP Window 2 and 3 programme.
ABB transitioned from a training or human capacity development organization into a full set up hub in 2023 after the receipt of funding from the World Bank and NEIP under the Hub Grant Programme geared towards training and supporting ten aspiring youthful entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas or concept into commercially viable early-stage startups. Currently ABB has trained and provided startup funding to thirteen (13) early-stage entrepreneurs under the Hub Grant Programme and is preparing to commence the second cohort of the programme where ten (10) aspiring entrepreneurs in the agro-processing, manufacturing and IT sectors would be trained and funded.
2018
Incorporation of Africa Business Bureau (ABB) as an LLC.
2019
ABB commenced business as a human capacity development institution.
2020
ABB trained over 100 women entrepreneurs under the Government of Ghana Window 2 Entrepreneurship Programme.
2022
ABB trained 324 entrepreneurs across five municipalities in the Greater Accra Region under the Government of Ghana Window 3 Entrepreneurship Programme. (Kpone Katamanso, Tema West, Shai-Osudoku, Tema Metropolitan and Ningo Prampram Municipalities)
May 2023
ABB commenced its Talent Management Programme by training 11 finalists of the Africa Monologue Challenge (South Africa, Tanzania, Nigeria, Zambia, Cameroon, Kenya and Ghana).
December 2023
ABB evolved from a training center into a full-fledged hub under the Hub Grant Programme of the NEIP and World Bank Ghana.
2024
Thirteen (13) youth and women-led businesses incubated with Twelve (12) startup founders funded under the 1st Cohort of The Anchor Incubator Programme.
2025
2nd Cohort of Anchor Incubator Programme commences with ten (10) startups in the agro-processing and information technology sectors.
